Abstract: | The performance of a novel controller, Hybrid Power Flow Controller, has been evaluated with the most advanced controller Unified Power Flow Controller, on the basis of power flow parameters and the response obtained with its execution on Real-Time Simulation. The constituent devices of HPFC consisted of two equally rated shunt connected VSCs sharing a common DC link connected on either side of TCSC. The performance of system with respect to both the criterions proved HPFC as an equivalent alternative controller to UPFC. The determination of optimal location of HPFC for minimization of real power loss and generation cost using Genetic Algorithm optimization technique has been carried out. The performance of constituent devices TCSC and STATCOM have been upgraded when configured in HPFC, as compared to their independent application in the system. The results of power flow parameter are evaluated on MM9B system and IEEE-30 Bus system using MATLAB and RTS is done on MM9B system using OPAL-RT 4510. newline |
