The present study was conducted in three stages. The first stage involved a survey to explore the status of clothing being used by employees handling acid based chemicals in electroplating industries. In stage two, samples of fabric were developed using polyester filament of different deniers and woven in different structures in varying ends and picks. The samples thus prepared were tested and results showed that Rip Stop Weave Structure constructed using Micro Filament yarn with 0.53 dtex and finished with Alkyl Urethane was most resistant to penetration of harsh acidic chemicals. Finally, in the third stage, a prototype design was developed for protective work wear for industry workers to be constructed in the above fabric specification. newline
