Abstract: Severe postoperative pain is associated with an increased risk for newlinecomplications, slowing of the rehabilitation process, delayed return to normal newlinefunctioning, progression to persistent pain states, prolonged length of hospital newlinestay, elevated rates of readmission, and higher overall costs. Hip fracture newlineoften have an impaired nutritional status at the time of fracture, which can newlineresult in a higher complication rate, prolonged rehabilitation time and newlineincreased mortality (Wyers et al, 2010). Hip fractures in old age frequently newlinecause impairment in activities of daily living (Goisser et al, 2015). newlineApproximately 25-30% of hip fracture patients was discharged to long-term newlinecare facilities and never received appropriate rehabilitation. newlineNurse`s skills, interventions, attitudes, communication and continuity of newlinecare and selection of intervention strategies are very essential to take care of newlinethe orthopedic problems. An effective postoperative care can decrease the newlinepatient`s pain, discomfort and postoperative complications. Incorporating newlinecomprehensive care program in care elements can decrease complications newlineduring hospital stay. Rehabilitation should be included according to need of newlinethe patient. There is a need for improving knowledge and preventing their newlinecomplications is very essential. newline
