Abstract: In order to avoid packet loss in sensor networks, for communication a technique called redundancy elimination and hybrid packet scheduling is proposed which is to remove the redundancy among packets and then to schedule them in order to avoid the loss of it due to congestion. This concept of reducing packet loss is based on congestion. Also it achieves the high packet delivery ratio with less loss rate of packets. Due to this the arrival rate of packets are improved successfully. The classifications of packets are based on very high, high, medium and low priority. Though classification is based on priority fairness can be achieved using arrival rate based priority queuing algorithm which is derived from the concept of weighted fairness priority queuing algorithm. The bandwidth allocation and reuse among the various priority queues reduces energy consumption and delay thereby reducing the loss of all types of packets. Also the residual energy of the nodes which are deployed in sensor environment is also found out. This type of communication is used for lot of applications such as tracking and monitoring which involves military, habitat, business as well as public and industrial applications. newlineThe residual energy calculation is one of the important phase in wireless sensor networks. The remaining energy within the nodes of the sensor network after the entire routing process is completed is called residual energy of the networks. The energy which is taken as the initial Energy is 1000mJ. This energy is named as initial energy in the calling procedure of the simulation code. During simulation, the variable energy signifies the level of energy in a node at any specified time and its value gets decreased. The rate of initial energy is passed as an input argument in the function for residual energy calculation. Losing of energy is based on the specific amount of energy transmitted and received for every packet. In this work the residual energy is calculated based on the number of nodes deployed for various time interva
