Abstract: | Sports performance is indeed a part of complex human performance, which has many dimensions. Hence, several subjects of sports sciences are required to work in a coordinated manner to discover the type and the process of improving performance. Volleyball is one of the most widely played sports all over the world that is enjoyed by both men and women of all ages since it is a great form of workout. This game needs a fast pace with little physical contact. The purpose of the present study quotA study of Anthropometric characteristics and Motor Fitness variable in relation to playing ability among Volleyball players had attempted to illuminate the method and procedure adopted to predict role of anthropometric characteristics and motor fitness variables to evaluate the playing ability of male volleyball athletes. A sample of 96 male Volleyball athletes was enrolled from government and private universities which participated in north zone Inter-University. Top four team athletes were categorized as winners and athletes of four teams who lost in first round were considered as loser between age group of 18 to 25 years. The data pertaining anthropometric characteristics and motor fitness variable descriptive as well as inferential statistics were used. For comparing averages between two groups of athletes student t test for independent sample was used. One-way ANOVA test of variance for multiple comparisons was used. Pearson s correlation co-efficient and linear regression analysis were applied for establishing relationships of playing ability with Anthropometric and Motor Fitness parameters. Statistics level of significance was taken as 0.05 for testing pre-designed hypothesis. newline |
