As companies invest a substantial amount of time, money and efforts to newlineimplement green supply chain management (GSCM) practices at various newlinelevels of their supply chain, it is questionable if organizations will reach their newlineenvironmental sustainability objectives without the active involvement of newlinedrivers such as Government agencies and regulators, competitors customers, newlinesuppliers, public and other stakeholders, enablers such as internal newlineenvironmental management team and green information systems. newlineAlthough existing research has identified various drivers and enablers for newlineGSCM, there is little theoretical understanding and explanation relating to newlinecombined effect of green drivers and green enablers on GSCM practices at newlinedifferent stages of the supply chain. Also, the mediation effect of Green newlineenablers on the relationship of Green drivers and GSCM practices is not newlinesufficiently covered in the existing research work. Consequently, this newlinedissertation seeks to provide insight into understanding the association newlinebetween Green drivers, Green Enablers and GSCM practices. Also, the newlinePharmaceutical Sector is not widely researched in developing countries like newlineIndia because of multiple complexities in Pharmaceutical Supply Chains newline(PSCs). newlineWith a rapid and steady economic growth, the attractiveness of Indian newlinepharmaceutical market has attracted more international and new players to newlineenter the market. The environmental impact because of these players required newlinea thorough study. A research model based on the theories, The Resource- newlineBased View and The Institutional Theory was used to develop the research newlinemodel. Then data was collected using a survey tool from practicing managers newlinein PSCs to study the influence of Green Drivers and Green Enablers on GSCM newlinepractices. Support was found for all three hypotheses confirming direct newlineassociation of Green drivers with Green Enablers and GSCM practices, and newlinethe direct association of Green enablers with GSCM practices.
