dc.description.abstractThe energy security is one of the priority work of every government, especially concerning newlinetowards developing countries as they have a high scope of achieving sustainable newlinedevelopment. The research work is similarly focused on adhering the same. CCS is the new newlineand emerging technology which stands for having a major concerned on global warming and newlinerise in CO2 level. The work emphasize the post combustion technology for capture of CO2 at newlinea pilot level to make a benchmark for enhancing CO2 capture technology for commercial newlinelevel. newlineExperiment is performed on the pilot plant installed at RGPV Bhopal-MP. The CCS pilot newlineplant at energy park of RGPV is funded by Department of science and Technology (DST), newlinegovt. of India under IS-STAC scheme. The pilot plant is based on post combustion capture newlinetechnology for capturing CO2 from a diesel fired boiler and biomass gasifier. This work also newlinefocuses on using capture CO2 as a base for multipurpose fuel generation to reduce the newlineconsumption of external fuel source. The capture efficiency of CO2 was monitored and newlinecapture efficiency plots are developed for calculating the feasibility of CCS plant at newlineindustrial level. The plant characteristics were monitored under two phases as in first phase newlinethe baseline data was generated and in second phase the stabilization and optimization of newlineprocess was introduced to make the plant capable of providing optimized capture efficiency newlineand to enable other parameters online monitoring and provide reliable data. newlineIn this plant Monoethanolamine (MEA) was used as solvent for capturing CO2. The overall newlinetesting was performed having trial runs of 1300 hours. The conversion of captured CO2 to newlinefuel was also studied. CO2 at high temperature using treated lignite converted into carbon newlinemonoxide further same was also transformed to Hydrogen through water-shift reaction. The newlinecaptured CO2 released in algal pond for the study of the algal growth which can further be newlineused for biodiesel production. newline
