Abstract: | In the electrochemical study utilizing nickel oxide (NiO) hybrid nanocomposite, the newlinesynthesis method for the preparation of nickel oxide was precipitation technique followed by subsequent annealing at various temperatures and fabricated it on coconut fibre mat. The influence of annealing temperature on the electrochemical performance was examined by several characterization techniques such as XRD, TEM and FESEM, cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic charge-discharge, cyclic performance and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. It was observed that samples annealed at higher temperatures have shown low specific capacitance and cyclic stability. The sample annealed at 550oC (NiO/CNT550) has exhibited superior higher specific capacitance of 494 F/g with cyclic retention of 94%. The coconut fibre mat allowed maximum electrolyte absorption and CNT as buffer that reduces newlinethe aggregation of NiO nanoparticles has contributed to the increased capacitance of the nanocomposite. |
