Abstract: | Subjective well-being has been a popular area of research. It has been studied with variables but little research has been done that finds out the impact of variables of self-esteem, optimism and mastery taken together. Theory and practice are restricted, particularly in the university faculty population. This study aims, when assessed together, to find the effects of self-esteem, motivation and mastery. The second joint influence on subjective well-being of self-esteem and optimism is also discussed. newlineA sample of total 438 was collected from various faculties of universities of Madhya Pradesh. Such surveys evaluated self-esteem, mastery, optimism, subjective well-being and different demographics. Correlation, Regression and Moderation Effect is used to analyze these variables relationships with Subjective Well Being. newlineSubjective well-being is strongly associated with self-esteem, ability and optimism. The combined influence of self-esteem and optimism in the variables had been shown to be optimistic for subjective well-being. Examination of interaction effect revealed that, optimism moderates the impact of self-esteem on Subjective Well Being. The moderation model came out to be significant. newlineOptimism, self-esteem, and mastery shared a significant variance in subjective wellbeing. The impacts of self esteem shared the highest and important variance with optimism and mastery of subjective wellbeing, also shared a significant variance with subjective well-being. There is an interaction effect of optimism. Optimism significantly moderates relationship between self-esteem and well-being. This research leads to contribution to practice. newlineThis thesis discussion will contribute in improving the understanding of Well-being. Constructs of self-esteem, optimism and mastery can play an important role in changing personal expectations and growth and result in a high degree of quality of life. |
