Abstract: Education Psychology is a branch which is concerned with the scientific study of human learning. The study of learning processes include cognitive and behavioural perspectives. Researchers can understand individual differences in intelligence, cognitive development, etc. This field of educational psychology relies on quantitative methods, including testing, measurement, and assessment, which facilitates learning processes in various educational setups. In today s scenario, the cognitive perspective is more widely used as compared to behavioural perspective as it is related to mental constructs such as traits, beliefs, and emotions. Cognitive theories include how information is perceived, processed, stored, retrieved, and erased in human beings. Educational psychologists say that emotions can play a significant role in how we think and behave. The emotions we feel each moment is directly related to the actions. Emotions are important as they play a vital role in learning and can help in developing a learner s academic commitment and success. Now-a-days, educational institutions, like schools and colleges emphasize more on the thinking aspect, or cognition of an individual. In 1956, Benjamin Bloom led a group of educational psychologists. Stemming from the results of their research emerged a classification of thinking behaviours believed to be important in the learning process. Bloom postulated that abilities could be measured along a continuum running from simple to complex. The taxonomy of educational objectives is comprised of six levels, namely: knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, evaluation, and synthesis. newlineThe aim of this research work is to develop a model to assess the cognitive learning levels and the learning ability of students. This model would be based on biometric traits of the students. The traits considered for this research work includes facial expressions and voice. The emotions are deduced by analyzing these biometric traits. Based on these emotions, students are assessed and evaluated.
