Abstract: | Chapter 1 overview of display phosphors used for solid state newlinelighting, merits and demerits of different synthesis methods. Advantages of wet newlinechemical synthesis over other synthesis techniques and historical perspective of newlinecombustion and green synthesis techniques. Further, this chapter also devoted to the newlineliterature survey on the structural, luminescent properties and synthesis of various newlineoxide nanophosphors. The scope and objectives of the present study were also newlinehighlighted. newlineChapter 2 Describes the principles, instrumentations and use of analytical newlinemethods employed in the present study. The physico-chemical techniques employed newlinewere powder X-ray diffractometer (PXRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), newlinetransmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), newlineFourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), electron paramagnetic resonance newline(EPR), Raman spectroscopy, UV-Visible absorption spectroscopy, newlinephotoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy and thermoluminescence (TL). newlineChapter 3 deals with preparation of MgO NPs via solution combustion route newlineusing Limonia acidissima (La) fruit extract as fuel. The final product was well newlinecharacterized by well-known techniques. All the diffraction peaks were well newlinematched with the cubic phase with standard JCPDS.No: 4-829 and belongs to the newlinespace group Fm-3m (no. 225). The peaks at the diffraction angles of 36.90, 42.82, newline62.27, 74.80 and 78.21 are attributed to (111), (200), (220), (311) and (222) planes, newlinerespectively. The average crystallite size and micro strain was estimated using well newlineknown techniques and results discussed systematically. The cubic structure of the newlineprepared samples was confirmed through structural Rietveld refinement by using newlineFullprof Program. The results were in good agreement with observed and calculated newlinePXRD patterns. The structural refinement quality was measured by a parameter calledgoodness of fit (GoF). In the present work, estimated GoF was found to be ~ 0.73. newlineThe packing diagram of prepared MgO NPs by utilizing diamond softw |
