dc.description.abstractnewline The present thesis consists of 6 chapters. newlineChapter 1 newlineThe brief introduction on X-ray crystallography, chalcone derivatives, organic salts and esters taken for the study are presented in this chapter. The chemical structure of the four chalcone derivatives, three organic salts and three esters are also discussed. newlineChapter 2 newlineThis chapter presents the different materials (chemicals and solvents) used for the synthesis and crystallization process, followed by the basic theory of X-ray xix diffraction, instrumentation and software programs used for this research work. Single crystal X-ray crystallography method and its procedure such as; Crystal selection, Intensity data collection, Data reduction, Structure solution, Refinement and Structure analysis are briefly discussed. newlineChapter 3 newlineThis chapter deals with the synthesis, three dimensional molecular structures and crystal packing analysis of chalcone derivatives, with conclusion. newlineChapter 4 newlineThis chapter presents the synthesis, three dimensional molecular structures and crystal packing analysis of three organic salts, with conclusion. newlineChapter 5 newlineThis chapter reports the synthesis, three dimensional molecular structures and crystal packing analysis of three ester derivatives, with conclusion. newlineChapter 6 newlineThis chapter presents the comparative studies and Hirshfeld surfaces of all the molecules discussed in this study. Further, the scope for the future work is discussed. newline
