dc.description.abstractnewline The thesis entitled Homo- and Heteroleptic Metal Complexes of 1,1-Dithio Ligands: newlineSynthesis, Crystal Structures and Properties is comprised of six chapters (Shceme 1). In newlinethis study nineteen (19) new homo- and heteroleptic complexes [1-4] of Ni(II), Cu(I), newlineZn(II) and Bi(III) with dianionic 1,1-ethylenedithiolate and monoanionic xanthate and newlinedithiocarbamate ligands have been synthesized and characterized by elemental (C, H, N) newlineanalysis, ESI- HRMS, spectroscopy (IR, 1H, 13C{1H}, 31P{1H}, NMR, UV-Vis.) and their newlinesolid state structures have been elucidated by single crystal X- ray diffraction. The phase newlinepurity of the bulk samples have been examined by powder X- ray diffraction (PXRD). newlineThe complexes have been applied as catalysts in Click synthesis, Knoevenagel newlinecondensation and electrocatalyst in oxygen evolution schemes. The anti- leishmanial newlineactivity of Bi(III) dithiocarbamate complexes have been studied.
