Abstract

Many policy changes in economic sphere have taken place after independence, newlinedue to which various economic and social alterations are visible in the country. Last newlinethree decades remained phenomenal in terms of GDP and per capita income growth newlinerates. However, structural changes have been quite different from expectations in the newlinedevelopment process of India. In 2017-18 economic survey, share of service sector in newlineGDP was highest with 53.66 per cent and share of manufacturing sector was 29.02 per newlinecent. Secondary sector and tertiary sector failed to absorb the excess labour force from newlinethe agriculture sector by generating sufficient employment. newline
