All living beings are made up of basic unit - CELL. Development of human body newlinefollows a predetermined path wherein it starts with single cell known as zygote newline(fertilized egg) and eventually forms multicellular organism with complex organsystem. newlineThe egg which is fertilized, becomes a totipotent mass of cells to generate newlinethree germ layers: ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm, which divides and re-divides newlineand differentiates to form different organs and eventually the whole body as one newlineentity.1 For the smooth working of the organs, the cells at the ground level are newlineregulated through receptors on their surfaces and the associated signal transduction newlinemechanisms. Usually any imbalance in the working of the cells is kept under control newlineby the specialized processes. However, sometimes, any grave injury to the cells leads to diseased state. newline newline
