Abstract: Recently adhesive capsulitis shoulder is a common problem in adults. newlineApplication of manual therapy may produce good improvement in case of newlineadhesive capsulities of shoulder. Manual therapies such as Maitland newlineTechnique and Mulligan Technique may provide good improvement than the newlineusual physiotherapy modalities. In condition of adhesive capsulitis of newlineshoulder, the tight capsules of the joint and thickening of the CHL are present. newlineHence there is need to compare the effect of Maitland Technique and newlineMulligan Technique to reduce the pain, improve the Range of Motion (ROM), newlinechanges in Coroco Humeral Ligament (CHL) thickness and HLA B 27in newlineadhesive capsulitis of shoulder newlineAim newlineTo compare the beneficial effects of Maitland and Mulligan technique in newlinepain reduction, improvement in range of motion, changes in coroco humeral newlineligament thickness and HLA B 27 in adhesive capsulitis of shoulder. This study newlineconcludes that the combined effects of Mulligen and Maitland techniques newlineshowed improvement in terms of pain, range of motion and thickness of newlinecoraco humeral ligament and HLA B 27 status. The coracohumeral ligament newlineplays the main role in limiting the shoulder external rotation. In adhesive newlinecapsulitis the coraco humeral ligament is stiffer and cause further restriction. newlineThe techniques of Maitland and Mulligen incorporated in this research proved newlinethat lateral range of motion is significantly improved and it also reduces the newlinecoraco humeral ligament thickness which was evident in ultrasound newlineexamination. newlineBased on the available literature sources and our findings it has been newlinepostulated that Mulligan therapy has its own superior value over Maitland newlinetherapy and other gentle shoulder range of motion exercises in terms of newlineincreased joint range of motion, reduced pain and reduced coracohumeral newlineligament thickness in adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder. This study is first of newlineits kind to investigate the effects of coraco-humeral ligament thickness and newlinethis outcome parameter may be included in future studies
