Abstract: | Prevention is better than cure especially when something has No cure . Human immune deficiency virus infection is now considered chronic disease with the long time survival. In Asia, after long years of fighting the life threatening condition changed into manageable disease. According to UNAIDS there were approximately 36.7 million people worldwide living with HIV/AIDS at the end of 2015 an estimated 2.1 million individual was become newly infected . Overall 18.2 million people living with HIV were accessing ART. Since, there is no cure for AIDS at present. Development of HARRT drugs, proper ART adherence nutrition suppress the HIV replication, infection and prolongs the life time. The conceptual framework based on Ernestine Weiedenbech s clinical nursing practice theory. An experimental study design, pre test and post test design was adopted for the study. The independent variable for the study was need based interventional package and the dependent variable for the study was Quality of life. The study was conducted in two hospital in Chennai, Kilpauk Medical College as study group I and Stanley Medical College and Hospital as group II. The samples of the study were 250 from each group. Inclusion criteria was adults with HIV infection, CD4 cell count gt300, age group between 20-50 years. Simple random sampling technique was adopted for this study. 1.The study helped to identify the reasons for the missed doses and enhance the ART adherence through the need based intervention, 2. The nutritional practices increased the dietary knowledge on practice and created the awareness of importance of nutrition. 3. The study promoted the Quality of life in the aspects of like physical mobility, involvement in house hold work and an improved level of independence in their daily activities. 4. The study findings improved the Quality of life of HIV infected clients. The life experience increased more in poor status to good status. There is no chance to go for the poor status after the need based interventions. newline newline |
