Abstract: The highest prevalence of anemia occurs in India. In India, adolescent newlinegirls, who constitute a sizable segment of its population form a vulnerable newlinegroup and are at greater risk of morbidity and mortality. India has the world s newlinehighest prevalence of iron deficiency anemia among women, with 60 to 70%of newlinethe adolescent girls being anaemia due to poverty, inadequate diet, worm newlineinfestation, poor access to health services. newlineA study was conducted to identify the effects of MoringaOlifera leaves newlinefor the improvement of iron status among infants (6- 12 months) in Nigeria. newlineStudy conducted among 40 infants, for haemoglobin, serum ferritin, serum newlineretinol, the group was assigned to test group and control group. The test newlinegroup received maize traditional complementary food with Moringa Oleifera newlineand control group received only maize traditional complementary foods and newlinethe post assessment was done. The result showed a remarkeable increase in newlinemean Hb from 10.65- 12.98 gm/dl among the test group. This study revealed that prevalence of anaemia was high among newlineadolescent girls (56%). A honey datesamla mix has significant role in newlineimproving biochemical variables such as haemoglobin, MCV, serum iron, newlineserum ferritin, total iron binding capacity, saturation. Similarly it has the newlinebeneficial effects in positively changing the fatigue level among adolescent newlinegirls. The dropout of the present study is 1.1%. An adolescent girl had fever newlineduring the study period, due to her health condition she went home and was newlineunable to participate and consume the supplementation continuously newlinethroughout this present study. newline
