Abstract: The rise in interventions rate in labour and childbirth need to be newlineaddressed as a matter of priority as outlined by reviews of research studies, newlinematernity services, and international reports. The expectations for the newlinemanagement of labour and delivery vary according to the category of health newlineprofessionals. Physicians are expected to provide pharmacological therapy, newlinewhereas midwives, nurses and other auxiliaries are required to assist newlineparticipants with psychological methods and in fact, with the use of alternative newlineapproaches. Women s satisfaction with maternity services, especially care newlineduring birth and labour, has become increasingly important to health care newlineproviders, administrators, and policy makers. Research shows that women s newlinesatisfaction with childbirth is partly related to the health and well-being of the newlinemother and the baby. Novel solutions and evidence-based practice to make newlinelabour experience a satisfactory and fulfilling one are being carried out. The newlinepromotion of birth as a normal physiological event and evidence based on the newlineeffectiveness of birth support and application of non-pharmacological methods newlinemay make the labour experiences more promising in particular for the first newlinetime mothers. There exists limited documentation of alternative methods of newlinelabour induction and pain management during childbirth. Alternative methods newlineof pain management are significantly associated with decreased odds than newlinemedical pain management. Hence there is a need to examine the newlineeffectiveness of these strategies and their influence on health care particularly newlinereflexology in childbirth. The result of newlinethe study reveal that application of reflexotherapy in labour and the presence newlineof a skilled birth attendant during the process of labour has a significant newlineimpact in reducing the intense pain an inevitable element of labour, lessening newlinethe duration of labour which is tend to be very lengthy in case of first time newlineparturient and to decrease the level of stress and anxiety. newline
