Abstract: Transistors are important components of integrated circuits that are present in the majority of modern electronic equipments. Enormous attempts have been devoted to improving the chemical stability, charge-transporting properties of the active layer. Heteroacenes have proven to be an important class of fused aromatic compounds due to their many advantages like planar and#960;-conjugated structure which provides extended conjugation length and eliminates the conformational disorder to improve the charge-carrier passage and many more. Quinoline is a fused pi-conjugated aromatic compound with a large overlapping area which is advantageous for good charge-carrier properties. It is a versatile molecule due to many important properties like easier synthesis, purification, well-defined molecular structures, better film-forming property, and batch-to-batch reproducibility which makes them a suitable applicant to be used as organic semiconducting materials. With bottom-up molecular engineering, we can tune its electronic properties for better device performance. The Donor-Acceptor system (D-A) was largely explored and exhibits promising results, but other molecular architects are also being expansively explored.
