Effectiveness of Educational Package Regarding Life Style and Behaviour Modification Practices on Body Mass Index BMI of Adolescents at Selected Educational Institutions of Greater NOIDA Uttar Pradesh

Abstract

ABSTRACT newlineThe study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of Educational Package regarding life style and behavior modification practices on body mass index (BMI) at selected educational institutions of Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. A non-randomnized pre-test and post-test control group design was adopted to conduct this study. 400 bachelor degree students overweighed, aged 18-19 years fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Instruments used for data collection are demographic Performa, knowledge questionnaire regarding the life style and behavioural modification and practice questionnaire. The analysis related sample characteristics revealed that participants in both the groups were similar in their baseline characteristics. The study findings revealed that after the administration of the educational package, there was a drastic change in the dietary practices in the experimental group compared to the control group. In conclusion, the study highlights that the educational package was effective in terms of change in knowledge of adolescents. Practices of adolescents in management of obesity and overweight and BMI of adolescents among experimental groups was statistically proven. newline newline
