Abstract: Researchers have proved that continuous training and retraining are required to improve the asset newlinequality of employees in an organization. But the fact is, though billions of dollars are spent and newlinemillions of human hours are sacrificed, not many training programs deliver the desired result. newlineThe reasons for such failure is attributed to training is boring, not at the right level, participants newlinedon t engage in learning process, too focused on lecture versus practice, not applicable and so on. For this newlineit is imperative to explore the factors that make a training program effective. newlineAs in any training programme the beneficiaries are the learners, to measure training newlineprogramme s effectiveness, their experience should be valued. This thesis scales training newlineeffectiveness, at the training delivery stage, based on the opinions of 600 managerial and newlinesupervisory level employees, working in various organizations in India. They participated in newline managerial skills training programmes conducted in classroom environment and on completion newlineof the sessions shared their experience and expectations from the training through designed newlinequestionnaires. The analysis depicts the role of four key factors - resource person, training newlinemethodology, audio-visual aids, and classroom environment that make a training session newlineeffective. Training efficacy was examined at two stages of training evaluation reaction and newlinelearning (Donald Kirkpatrick Model). The difference in entry level and exit level tests confirmed newlinethe objectives of the training being achieved by generating desired learning. To gather the newlinetrainees experiences and feedback on what they liked or disliked in training programme, a newlinereaction level questionnaire was placed and trainees shared their experience on the training on newlinefour key factors and results received were analyzed through SPSS-22 software. newlineThough the findings gave nearly equal importance to all the examined factors in making a newline
