Abstract: Globalization brings more lifestyle modifications among children and newlinethey were exposed to multiple risk behaviors. Early identification of obesity is newlinean important strategy to control, manage and prevent the complications. Many newlinestudies have revealed that the prevalence of obesity among school children newlineand many risk factors were postulated for obesity. Overweight and obesity are newlinethe leading public health challenges and increase morbidity and mortality. newlineObesity -related morbidity results more frequently in adults. The management newlineof overweight and obesity among children required a multidisciplinary, multiphase newlineapproach that includes dietary management, physical activity and newlinerestriction of sedentary behavior modification. Many intervention programs like newlineschool-based interventions, home based interventions, community based newlineinterventions, family focused interventions, and educational interventions, newlinedietary interventions, and physical activity based interventions provide unique newlineopportunities to enhance the health status of children. Many studies reported newlinethe effectiveness of school based intervention program is effective in obesity newlinecontrol .Healthy eating and active lifestyle intervention program focuses on newlinemulti-component school-based prevention program. Promotion of Healthy newlineeating habits, physical activity, education on complication prevention and newlineparental involvement are effective in maintaining weight management and newlinecontrol the complications. newlineThere is a need to screen the overweight and obese children to rule out newlinethe complications associated with obesity. School health nurse was appointed newlinein every school setting to ensure the role has limited towards basic newlinemeasurements and need to focus on the basic parameter for early newlineidentification of non-communicable diseases. With this background the newlinestudy aim to measure the bio physiological variables like height weight, body newlinemass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), Hip circumference(HC) , waist newlinehip ratio (WHR), and blood pressure and biochemical variables.
