Abstract: ABSTRACT newline newlineA Study to Assess the Effectiveness of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Technique in Reducing Stress among the Employees Working at Selected Information Technology Centers at Puducherry. The objectives of the study were to assess the level of stress among the IT employees in experimental group before and after intervention, to assess the level of stress among the IT employees in control group during pre and post test, to assess the effectiveness of MBSR technique in reducing stress among the employees working in information technology centers, to associate the level of stress among IT employees in both experimental and control group with their selected demographic variables and to find out the association between the level of stress on various factors with selected demographic variables among IT employees in both experimental and control group. Out of 500 employees, 137 employees (27.4%) in severe stress, 363 employees (72.4%) were very severe stress in pretest and 431 employees (86.2%) of them in no stress, 69 employees (12.8%) were in mild stress in experimental group. Out of 500 employees, 142 employees (28.4%) in severe stress, 358 employees (71.6%) were very severe stress in pretest and 160 employees (32%) of them in severe stress and 340 employees (68%) were in very severe stress in control group. The overall mean value is 4.05 in pretest and 1.60 in posttest. The t value is 23.51 and p value is 0.04 (p0.05). So there is no significant difference between the pre and post test level of stress among the IT employees in control group. The overall mean value is 4.01 in control group and 1.60 in experimental group. newline newline
