Abstract: BACKGROUND: newlineand#256;yurveda, the Vedic science of medicine, is a very ancient discipline which, extraordinary to newlinesay, also deals with the mind- body relationship. It is considered one of the world s oldest and newlinemost complex and complete systems of medicine, using natural healing, and containing newlineimmense wisdom for humanity. newlineAccording to and#256;yurveda, the organism function is controlled by three physiological processes newlinecalled Doand#347;as, Vand#257;ta, Pitta and Kapha which govern each individual. The science of and#256;yurveda newlinestands on this three-part fundamental concept, Tridoand#347;a. An individual s health depends on newlinemaintaining these three doand#347;as in states of balance. Conversely, imbalance of them leads to ill newlinehealth. newlineEvery organism has a natural state where one or more doand#347;as are in dominance. Disease develops newlinein the body in stages as doand#347;as depart in various ways from their balanced state. States of a newlineperson s health, any disturbance or bodily illness, and complete cure from disease, are all newlinegoverned by states of their doand#347;as. Determining a person s Prakand#7771;ti and vikand#7771;ti, respectively their newlinenatural, balanced state of doand#347;as, and their present states of imbalance, is central to and#256;yurveda newlinediagnosis and treatment. An individual s Prakand#7771;ti or distinct characteristic physiology is a newlinecombination of these three fundamental factors. The Prakand#7771;ti indicate physical traits with implied newlinemental characteristics. However, it is this that forms the natural characteristic of human beings. newlineVarious combinations of the three doand#347;as make people different from each other. This unique newlineconcept of Prakand#7771;ti makes and#256;yurveda distinct from other medical systems. The question for newlineand#256;yurveda in practice is how to measure a patient s Prakand#7771;ti / Vikand#7771;ti accurately. One accepted newlineway is a questionnaire, technically known in social science as an inventory . In this field there newlineis currently a gap questionnaires for the adolescent age group. newlineIn the present study, we developed two unique Inventories (Kand#257;and#347;yapa Prakand#7771;ti Inventory and newlineKand#257;and#347;yapa Psycho Physiological Inventory) aimed at adolesce
