Abstract: All the wireless networks are adapting themselves for the next generation wireless newlinenetworks, to provide best in class services. Recently a special type of network newlineemerged which can prove to be the game changer in the wireless networking field newlineknown as Wireless mesh networks (WMN s). Wireless mesh networks are newlinedynamically self- organized with the nodes in the network also the nodes are self newlineconfigured and nodes form the self connection with the other nodes, thus mesh newlineconnectivity is maintained. In the majority of research literatures on wireless newlinenetworks, they all focus on the characteristics of the resultant graph to control the newlinetopology and they do not consider the details of routing and scheduling schemes, newlinewhich consequently affect the throughput and delay and these, are the performance newlineparameters in wireless networks. After reviewing the existing research literatures, newlineour spotlight in this thesis, is to plan a topology such that it is greatly consistent in newlineconditions of connectivity and the calculation of best path, taking into account the newlinedistance and load conditions of the path, this is done with the objective of reducing newlinetransmission delay of data packets. So, we can consider the routing protocol to be newlinefair which divides the data traffic equally. This thesis is motivated by the existing newlineresearch literatures on the data routing metric Hop Count and bandwidth estimation newlinetechniques. In this thesis an algorithm is developed for finding out the paths with newlineshortest number of hops. In wireless networks the mobility of user nodes is very newlinehigh, so hop count metric do better than other metrics, are dependent on load newlinecondition of the paths. In this thesis, we have designed an algorithm which allows newlinethe mesh router to calculate the available bandwidth to help hop count based newlinerouting simultaneously keeping the assessment of congestion risk. As a result of newlinethis, quality of service is improved for real time applications and on the other hand newlinetraffic engineering rules are not abided. In the latest research paper on securit
