Abstract: | Background: Women always stands as a backbone in any domain. India is an optimistic platform of IT industry in which Chennai stands second largest city in employing women employees hence the researcher focused this domain to identify the effective strategy to retain the talented and trained brains of women employees as they quit their job mostly after marriage due to balance their work life and study enhance the research through performance appraisal system, training and development strategy withheld to their salary and compensation package strategies. newlineAim: The ultimate objective of the study is to examine the Strategies adopted for retention of women employees in IT sector in Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu, and the perceptions of existing women employee retention strategies adopted and how it influences of demographic variables on the women employee retention strategies. newlineMethodology: Descriptive and Analytical research design was used to analyze the Convenient sampling technique of the study population consisted of 423 respondents (IT women employees) of Chennai city. To justify the sample size, formula has been derived and explained in research methodology in detail. The Likert five scale questionnaire pattern is scientifically arrived. The Data collection tools and techniques used have been explained in Research Methodology. The data was statistically analyzed using the tools of Simple Percentage analysis, Parametric t-test Analysis, Rank Correlation, Multiple linear regression analysis and Garrett Ranking. newlineResults: The study shows the significant association of sociolect-demographic variables. It is concluded that the Salary and compensation related strategy highly commendable for effective retention where as women empowerment not relatively commendable than the training and career growth strategy.
