Abstract

This thesis reports explorative research concerning the newlineluminescence properties of rare earth doped CoWO4 material for optical newlineapplications The focuses is on searching for improved or unconventional newlineproperties in existing materials and in addition design synthesis of novel newlinematerials through special crystal chemical substitutions The structure of newlinerare earth doped CoWO4 and photoluminescence studies have not been found newlinein the literature Finally the invention of rare earth doped CoWO4 materials newlineand understanding of the relationship between luminescence properties and newlinestructure composition are also challenging parts of the work described in this newlinethesis from an application and scientific point of view respectively Here it is newlinenoted that no attempt has been made to give a detailed spectroscopic study newlinewhich is an interesting subject of subsequent studies newlineNanoparticles were prepared by chemical precipitation technique newlineThe synthesized particles were characterized with different techniques such as newlinepowder X ray diffraction XRD Scanning Electron Microscopy SEM newlineUV vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy UV DRS Transmission electron newlinemicroscopy TEM Fourier transform infrared FT IR Fluorescence and newlinevibrating Sample Magnetometer to analyze the physic chemical properties of newlinethe prepared nanoparticles newline newline
