Abstract: In the developing countries of the world such as India, uncontrolled population newlinegrowth has created problem of limited food supply, which has led to search for new newlinemethods to provide adequate food for humans. Over three-quarters of the population in newlineunder-developed countries consume lt30g of protein/person/day, which is half of the newlinerecommended dose (Jonathan, 2002). This occurs because the cost of meat and fish are newlinebeyond the reach of the average citizen. Most people in underdeveloped and developing newlinecountries in Africa cannot afford these essential food commodities, as a result of low newlineper capita income. This problem has led to malnutrition and various diseases, newlineparticularly in children. Therefore, methods to source alternative protein for common newlinepeople are needed (Jonathan and Adeoyo, 2011). newline
