Abstract: ABSTRACT newlineA study toevaluatethe effectiveness ofHEALNursingstrategies onfunctional ability, pain and Quality of Life of adults with Knee osteoarthritis newlineAIM: newlineThe aim of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of HEAL Nursing strategies on functional ability, pain and Quality of Life of adults with Knee osteoarthritis aged 55-65 years at Puducherry. newlineRESEARCH METHODOLOGY newlineA quantitative quasi experimental pre testpost test design was used to assess the effectiveness of HEAL nursing strategies on pain, functional ability and quality of life of knee osteoarthritis clients.The setting of the study was Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Puducherry. newlineRESULTS: newlineThe post test done at four points after the implementation of HEAL nursing strategy indicates the changes in pain level occurred progressively over the time period. In post test, immediately after the interventions, majority of patients 188(87.1%) had severe pain, 26(12%) had moderate pain and only 2(0.9%) had severe pain. At the post test after 6th month showed that majority of patients that is 144(66.7%) had mild pain, 66(30.6%) had moderate pain and only few 6(2.8%) had severe pain. In post test 1 t value was 2.83, post test 2 t value was 18.17, post test 3 t value was 22.13 and post test 4 t value was 29.73 which were greater than tabulated value at plt 0.01.That is HEAL nursing strategies was effective in reducing the pain among clients with knee osteoarthritis. newlineRegarding Quality of life, comparison of mean difference among the groups proved that in study group it was 44.36 and the t value was 251.39, in control group the mean difference was 6.01 and the t value was 26.67. That is HEAL nursing strategies were very effective in improving the all components of quality of life score. newlineCONCLUSION: The study concludes that the HEAL nursing strategy was effective in improves functional ability, reducing the level of pain and quality of life among adults with knee osteoarthritis. newline newline
