Effectiveness of Structured Teaching Programme and Video Assisted Programme regarding postnatal care among Primi Mothers in Coimbatore

Abstract

A Study was conducted to assess the knowledge, practice and attitude regarding various aspects of postnatal care among mothers who had been admitted for safe delivery at various maternity centres in Coimbatore. About 500 mothers were selected by non-probability sampling method for the study. The researcher approached each individual mother and assessed their pre-test level regarding the various aspects of postnatal care by the questionnaire method. On the same day health education was delivered to the mother with the help of flash cards and video demonstration regarding the postnatal care aspects. After analysis of the data the researcher came to an conclusion that the post-test knowledge , attitude and practice on various aspects of postnatal care was improved compared to the pre-test knowledge , attitude and practice on various aspects of postnatal care
