Abstract: ABSTRACT newlineResearch was conducted with the main aim to evaluate the BRIEF interventions in the alcohol usage among the late adolescents. The research approach was evaluative in nature with Quasi experimental design and conducted in selected colleges, at Puducherry with sample size of 305 late adolescents. Standardized tool was used to screen the adolescents who are at the risk of alcohol use, and structured questionnaires to collect the demographic variables of adolescents and factors access to their alcohol usage. BRIEF interventions was planned to administer through two methods: individual and group wise. The pre-test level of alcohol usage in experimental group shows, 110 (73%) samples had risk level, 28 (19%) samples had low risk level and 12 (8%) samples had high risk level of alcohol usage and in the control group, it shows, 132 (85%) samples had risk level, 15 (10%) samples had low risk level and 8 (5%) had high risk level of alcohol usage. Test results reveal that after interventions, in the experimental group, 101 (67%) samples were at risk level during 1st post-test. But as noted, samples have scored a low risk level category with the maximum of 83 (55%) and 121 (81%) during 2nd and 3rd post-test score respectively.Tests regarding repeated measure of ANOVA (RMANOVA) for difference among tests between the experimental and control group shows that in the experimental group pre-test post-test scores, the obtained F-value (p-value) is F = 825.94 showing statistically significance at 0.001 level. (i.e. p lt 0.001, highly significant). In the control group pre-test post-test scores, the obtained F-value (p-value) of F = 1.357 is not statistically significant at 0.001 level. (i.e. p = 0.256). The present research concludes that the use of alcohol is at the level of risk among the adolescents between the age group of 18 19 years. newline
