dc.description.abstractDue to increase food frauds, adulteration, consumer ecological awareness, competitiveness and strict rules and regulations in food sector, the approach of implementing Sustainable Food Supply Chain Management (SFSCM), to conserve natural resources and sustainable manufacturing, is increasingly become more imperative for companies. Now a day s companies have either implemented or about to implement the sustainability trends in their business processes because they want maximum economic ecological advantages. newlineBut, still, companies are hesitating in adoption of sustainability proposals in their supply chain planning. One of its reasons is lack of their knowledge/information of sustainability and financial benefits attained from adoption and implementation of SFSCM. Another reason is insufficient understanding of what is important for sustainability acceptance to fail in the supply chain. Since the initiatives of sustainability at many aspects of business involve several complexities. The food organisations are pushing to adopt circular economy initiatives to enhance economic ecological social sustainability of supply chains. The adoption of circular economy and sustainability aspects is complex from the point of view of developing nations compared to the developed nations. Due to which, it develops different challenges and success factors in implementing different Sustainable Food Supply Chain (SFSC) initiatives in business, which affects the complete performance. Thus, to efficiently managing initiation and implementation of SFSC initiatives, the background of the challenges and success factors related to SFSC really needs to be known, analyzed and managed. newlineAccording to National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), the Indian Dairy Association (IDA), along with 22 state level milk federations report estimates that dairy is one of the major contributors to India s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the consumption of dairy products will increased by 2 to 3 times in the year 2025 because of high population growth.
