Current human activities are really dissolving the limit of standard and social structures by method for modern development and advancement. In setting with ecological, social and economical change, it has ended up being obvious that our overall gathering specifically needs to get more sustainable lifestyles. A human cannot continue with the present route without hurting the environment and society to adapt to their necessities. Therefore, it is highly required to include sustainable consumption and production (SCP) patterns in business activities and our lifestyle. newlinePresently the demand for SCP is increased rapidly and globally due to increasing population. The global consumption expenditure is increased by 3% per year since 1970. From 1973 to 1998 it gets doubled and reaches to US $24 trillion. Some of this consumption is essential for human development like food, shelter, clean water, etc. Wealth consumption is distributed inequitably. Richest consume 86% while poor only 1.3%. North America consumes 20 times more than India and China. Non-renewable resources are at complete exhaustion and renewable resources such as soil, water, forests are under extreme stress. Academicians have increased their focus on sustainability issues as is evidenced by more and more research articles that have started to appear in leading journals. newlineThis research focuses on the recognition and analysis of SCP execution in Indian automobile companies. A total of six main success factors are listed along with twenty eight specific factors from the literature survey and input of the experts for SCP implementation in the automotive supply chains. The rank of the factors is identified through the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach and the importance of the success factors is estimated with the help of a decision making tool- Decision Making Trial And Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL), which analyze the interrelationship between the success factors and based on the results characterized the factors into cause and effect group
