Urban hydrogeology of Ambala city and Ambala cantonment area Haryana India

Abstract

An attempt has been made to assess the impact of urbanization on the water quality of Ambala City and Ambala Cantonment, the twin cities in the state of Haryana; its interaction with the subsurface water regime and its effect on drinking water quality which is being used by the people of the study area. The present chapter embodies the summary of the observations and conclusions drawn from various laboratories and field investigations carried out during this period of research. Recommendations and suggestions are also incorporated in order to sustain the subsurface water regime and to stop it from further contamination. newline
