Abstract: The present thesis investigates the synthesis and studies of two dimensional Boron-Carbon-Oxynitride (2D-BCNO). The properties of 2D-BCNO were understood through characterization. Furthermore the modification has done on 2D-BCNO to make it suitable for different photofunctional applications. This thesis includes six chapters, Chapter 1 discusses the background and motivation, aim and scope, and review of the 2D-BCNO. Chapter 2 discusses the various synthesis protocol and approaches followed to obtain the 2D-BCNO for various photofunctional applications in the entire study newline
