Abstract: | The systematic investigation of recent natural distortion (Ozone depletion, rise in water levels, extinction of rare-earth species, unseasonal rainfall) discloses that there is a high probable link between planet s distortion and pollution of commercial and transport activities. To mitigate these challenges, a key strategic term named Green logistics is introduced. Green logistics is an organized approach for delivering goods with the intent of reducing waste and virgin material utility. newline newlineEconomically driven logistic companies had faced enormous challenges during (green logistics) implementation phase, as demands of end-users are highly dynamic relative to the transit zones (intercontinental transit, inter urban transit, intra urban transit, urban-rural transit). The key objective of the researcher is to measure the environmental efficiency of logistic companies operating on three different transit zones by customized scales and unique and significant parameter (USP). The USP for inter- continental transit was to attain low emission per unit transit distance by bi-modes (Ship+truck) whereas the inter urban and urban-rural links were measured with timely delivery and minimal emission (food logistic truck). Moreover, the intra-urban logistic delivery was measured with agility and size of vehicles. newline newline newline newline newlineIn the inter-continental transit analysis (Ist phase), the key process is to develop emission metrics of sea mode and road mode (Unit emission demand to transport {i.e.,1-tonne/km}) and also to form a ready-reckoner chart for logistic movers. The ready-reckoner chart would be helping the mass logistic movers to decide the inclusive percentage of ship and road mode to be considered, in environmental perspective {60/40, 70/30, 80/20, newline90/10, 95/5}. A mathematical tool named DEALS is used for analysis. Moreover, the interurban and urban-rural transit analysis (IInd phase), it records the key factors influencing the fuel emission of trucks and recommended optimizing methods of mitigating fuel em |
