This is a research study on the Anibadh (non-rhythmic) folk songs of Kullu, Mandi and Bilaspur Janapad. Crafted by the not-so-famous, yet talented singers, these songs go beyond the narrow entertaining benefits and depicts the larger cultural context of the folk and folklore of the locality. The study found that the significance of these folk songs not only express the eternal stories of the community but also reflect the rich cultural heritage of the Janapad. In addition, this rich tradition and heritage add significant values to the socio-economic, religious, and cultural context of the locality. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that we preserve this unique cultural heritage of folk music and pass on these valuable assets to the next generations. newline
