Abstract: The research studies on the structural performance on cold-formed steel (CFS) or light gauge steel (LGS) sections have become much more predominant in the recent decades due to its advantage from its slender thin-walled open cross-sections. The criteria of instability such as local, distortional, global buckling and their interactions/coupling which remained as the key focus of objective is examined in this study. These buckling modes are solely responsible for the desired outcome of ultimate strength of the CFS sections apart from its behaviour in post buckling stage. This research study consisted of two major parts: (i) Experimental Investigation and (ii) Numerical /FE Analysis newline
