Abstract: Diabetic foot ulcer is the most devastating complication of hyperglycemia, with 15- 25% of diabetic patients developing the anomaly during their lifetime. DFU is associated with impaired wound healing due to oxidative stress and cytokine imbalance, infection, poor vascularization, and neuropathy. Among the various causative factors, Oxidative stress plays a key role in the progression of DFU. A persistent hyperglycemic environment contributing to oxidative stress is considered to delay the process of wound healing. NRF2, the master regulator of redox homeostasis, induces the expression of several antioxidants and detoxifying enzymes such as catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), heme oxygenase (HO1), NAD(P)H dehydrogenase (NQO1) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) and has been implicated in the pathogenesis of various diseases newline
