Abstract

During natural disasters, the affected people are subjected to a host of psychological problems. Due to the unexpected nature of such disasters, people undergo trauma, experiencing adverse emotions, which is one of the risk factors for them developing mental health problems. Identifying the emotional states of the people in real time may help in planning the psychological and social support services at the time of disasters. During the occurrence of flash floods, water level, extent of inundation and its duration contribute to the severity of the event. Information on water levels in the flooded areas and levels of inundation are required immediately after floods.
