Abstract: Export performance is not a one dimensional concept. Knowing the complex nature of newlineexport performance, use of a multiple measure is much more suitable. Literature newlineprovides us a number of ways in which the export performance can be dimensionalized. newlineDespite the numerous studies done over the past decades there is no generally newlineacceptable measurement of export performance in the literature (Cooper and newlineKlenischmidt, 1985; Madsen, 1989; Bilkey, 1982; Cavusgil, 1984; Diamantopoulous newlineand Inglis, 1988). Although numerous empirical researches have been done on the newlineexport performance over the past decades. However, no homogeneity has been achieved newlineneither on the determinants of export performance nor on the export performance newlinemeasures. Some authors have grouped export performance measures into three newlinecategories as: objective (financial/non-perceptual), subjective (non-financial, strategic, newlineperceptual) and composite scales, in order to have common consensus. Objective newlinemeasures include sales, profit and growth measures. Whereas, perceived success, newlinesatisfaction and goal achievement are the subjective measures which have emerged newlinefrom managerial perceptions. Both the objective and subjective measures have their newlineown drawbacks. Hence in order to overcome these drawbacks and to utilize the newlineadvantages of the two approaches it is required to construct a composite measure of newlinethese two measures. Hence, the composite scale will comprise of a variety of export newlineperformance measures both objective measures and subjective measures. newline
