Abstract: The present work includes mycobiota analysis of nine oil seed samples (Brassica juncea var. varuna, B. juncea var. kranti, Arachis hypogaea var. chandra, A. hypogaea var. kaushal, Sesamum indicum var. T-12, S. indicum var. shekhar, Helianthus annuus var. modern, H. annuus var. surya and B. campestris var. Pusa swarnim) and detection of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) producing potential of Aspergillus flavus isolates obtained. The antifungal and antiaflatoxigenic potential of selected chemically characterized plant essential oils (EOs) was tested against the most aflatoxigenic A. flavus isolate. The insecticidal potential of selected EOs was tested against Tribolium castaneum, the major oil seed infesting insect pest.
