Abstract: | The experiment entitled Studies on Growth and Yield of Chickpea and Mustard Intercropping Systems in Different Row Ratios and Liquid Manures was conducted during rabi season of 2018-19 and 2019-20 at Crop Research Farm Department of Agronomy Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture Technology and Sciences Prayagraj. The experiment was laid out in Split Plot Design which were replicated thrice. It consisted of five intercropping systems viz. sole chickpea sole mustard chickpea + mustard (1:1) chickpea + mustard (2:1) chickpea + mustard (3:1) and liquid manures viz. control (no spray), panchagavya 3% cow urine 10% and vermiwash 10%, respectively newlineBased on the intercropping systems chickpea sown with mustard (3:1) row ratio along with liquid manures was recorded highest in growth parameters such as plant height number of nodules per plant, dry weight whereas yield parameters such as number of grains per pod number of pods per plant seed index grain yield haulm yield biological yield. But maximum CGR and RGR was observed in sole chickpea with vermiwash 10% application. However harvest index was found maximum in chickpea and mustard (3:1) row ratio intercropping system along with panchagavya 3% as a liquid manure. newlineIn case of mustard, growth parameters such as plant height and dry weight was significantly higher in chickpea and mustard (3:1) row ratio with panchagavya 3% and number of sliquae per plant length of siliqua number of seeds per siliqua and test weight were recorded in sole mustard with application of panchagavya 3%. While CGR and RGR was noticed maximum in chickpea and mustard (1:1) row ratio with control. Yield parameters such as grain yield and biological yield were maximum in sole mustard with application of panchagavya 3%. But stover yield was recorded in sole mustard with vermiwash 10%. However harvest index was found maximum in chickpea and mustard (3:1) row ratio with vermiwash 10%. newlineRegarding land equivalent ratio, chickpea sown with mustard (3:1) along with application of vermiwash 10% as foliar s |
