Privacy preservation is significantly required to eliminate the exposure of patient sensitive data. Various privacy preservation methods are adopted in the cloud framework, but protecting the individual s personal data is still a challenging issue in the cloud environment. Therefore, an effective privacy preservation framework is developed to protect the user medical data. Initially, the input medical data is collected and subjected to the filtering mechanism to perform the privacy preservation process. The filtering mechanism is progressed using the 2D Infinite Impulse Response (IIR) filter, which generates a filter matrix using the filter factoring model. The generated filter matrix is used to construct the privacy preserved data, where the filter vector is based on the proposed Glowworm Swarm-based Whale Optimization algorithm (GWOA), which is the integration of Glowworm Swarm Optimization (GSO) and Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA). The resulted privacy preserved data is subjected to the data storage system, where the preserved data is recorded. Then, the preserved data is stored in the cloud management system of the cloud environment to render access to the user with higher privacy and utility. The proposed algorithm attained better performance with higher privacy, and utility values of 0.2698 and 0.8786, respectively when the key size is 256 while using Switzerland database. newline newline
