Abstract: Education plays vital role in development of any society and nation. During the journey from primitive to modern age, the society and man has experienced need and significance of education in transforming the human mind towards social prosperity as an inevitable mechanism. India has always left remarkable prints on the global civilization in propagation of education. Certainly general education is the foundation for advanced studies of all disciplines, but professional education in country like India has gathered quick momentum in the last few decades. Professional Education Institutions play an important role in accelerating the pace of developmental process by imparting knowledge and skills. In order to attain professional educational development and prosperity, India has the governmental efforts can be well recognized in the recent few decades in the past in order to create democratic, civilized and inclusive society. Tripura, erstwhile princely state, had become part of Indian Union post-independence on October 15, 1949. Tripura in the North eastern part of India is the smallest state in India.The state is mostly surrounded by deltanic base of Bangladesh except a tiny part on the north east which joins with the districts of Assam and Mizoram and it is mostly a hilly region. Agartala is the state capital. There are several ethnic groups in Tripura. The state has lush green landscapes with lot of resources both natural and human which reflects different ethnicities and cultural diversity, hence Tripura is known as Daughter of Mother Nature .The ethnicity in the state is predominantly tribals and non-tribal. Tripura was placed at a greater disadvantage after the partition of India in 1947 in terms of connectivity which resulted in massive infrastructural and economic setbacks. Tripura literacy level is praiseworthy and ranks on the top list of the country with literacy level of 95.16%. The state is industrially underdeveloped and suffers from inadequate infrastructure. newline
