Abstract: Despite the increasing prevalence of infertility in male due to hypogonadism (androgen deficiency), this area of research is being ignored for decades. It has recently been suggested that the metabolic disorders such as obesity, type 2 diabetes (T2D), and insulin resistance, etc. are a major cause of hypogonadism (decreased testosterone level) in male. It is now well demonstrated that obesity and T2D are on the rise not only in Indians but worldwide. Increasing evidence linked the epidemic of obesity and T2D with the prevalence of infertility in male. The mechanism by which obesity and T2D cause hypogonadism/infertility in male is not clearly known and requires detailed investigation newline
