newline The present study The Geographical Horizon of Kashi Janpad up to 12thcentury A.D. is an attempt to understand the various dimensions of the history of Kashifrom early to 1200 CE, on the basis of Historical, Cultural and Geographical diversities. The Kashi territory is a part of the great Ganga plain. The Kingdom of Kashi, which was the imperial power in pre-Buddhist times, was bordered by Vatsa Janpad in the west, Kosala in the north and Magadha in the eastern margin. The exact Boundary of Kashi Janpad may not be correctly demarcated as it shifted at different times, sometimes acquire more adjoining parts under its rulers at some times losing territorial jurisdiction over certain regions from time to time.
