Abstract: | Indian usual medicine is based on an assortment of systems including Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani. These traditional system of Indian medicine comprise their uniqueness, but there is a common fundamental principles and practice. newlineToday, phyto medicines are flooding the markets of advanced countries and the consumer world over have shown the preference for natural herbal based formulations. With the advent of automated high-through put screening methods, the pharmaceutical industry in the west has demonstrated a renewed commitment to searching for new medicinal agents from higher plants. Ethno botanical input has also influenced this movement and is fast becoming a chief strategy for development of drugs. newlineThe results showed the significant decrease of the viability of the cells in a concentration dependent manner. newlineThe chloroform extract of Carissa spinarum was subjected to column chromatography and isolation of active constituents. The compound was isolated and their purity was confirmed by TLC using different solvent systems. Based on the spectral analysis viz, IR, NMR, and Mass spectra were identified. newlineIn conclusion, the EFCC and EFCS treatment is very effective in both the cell lines. newlineIMPACT OF THE STUDY: newline The present was carried out to demonstrate the Carissa carandas and Carissa spinarum for selection and identification. newline Potentinvitroantioxidant activity observed in plant extracts in several standard methods. newline Potent in vitro,in vivo anticancer activity observed in plant fraction. newline The present studies were observed in plant fraction, under the study did not exist any toxicity to the animal models. newline The potent in vitro,in vivo antitumor, antioxidant activities of Carissa carandas and Carissa spinarum were proved undoubtedly based on the biochemical histological newlineevidence. The plant extract can be used in formulating containing such principles. newline The study provides scientific proves of many ethno medical uses of plants. newline newline |
