Abstract

Durkheim (1964) suggested that a crimeless society can be considered to be a myth. However, the nature of crime is such that it keeps on changing with the changing social conditions and social policies. Several writers have referred to the crime as sinful, antisocial and even immoral because it involves a direct cause and effect relationship between the voluntary misconduct and the consequent harm.
